How the numbers are made
- Tip-to-toe length L scales every outer face from the hand plan at 70 cm: foot 15.4, lower sides 45.2 each, upper sides 25.5 each, head 21.
- Mitre settings are locked: 41° off square at the head and foot corners, 8° at both waist corners. The exterior turn at each corner is twice the mitre, so the six corners close (360°).
- Each piece is a trapezoid. The short (inner) edge is the long edge minus thickness × (tan of each end mitre).
- The drawing walks the outer polygon counter-clockwise and offsets inward by thickness. The hand sketch has about a millimetre of walk closure error — the cut list uses the scaled outer lengths; the drawing nudges the last vertex closed.
- Board width does not change the plan outline; it only feeds the stock estimate (how much strip to buy).
