Build a little Christmas village that counts down to Christmas. It has four wooden houses, a tree and a base with 25 holes. Each day, you move the tree one hole along. When it reaches 25, Christmas is here.
This is a good first project. The cuts are simple. Most of the work is drilling, sanding and painting. Paper templates show you where everything goes, and the plan has step-by-step pictures with sizes in inches and mm.
